International Music School Cardiff is a music school and performance space in the city centre of Cardiff which specialises in classical and jazz instrument tuition, as well as music theory and musicianship group workshops.

Every instrumental tutor at International Music School Cardiff has a higher education music performance degree qualification and leads an active performing career. Being a musician is much more than passing a grade exam, and that’s what we pass on to every single student, regardless of age, ability and choice of instrument.

Our Story

Drawing on their experiences in music performance and music education in Germany, Malaysia and the UK, Daphne and Immanuel Voigt lead a strong team of 18 international musicians. At their own Cardiff-based music school International Music School Cardiff, Daphne and Immanuel provide music tuition of the highest quality and offer their students performance opportunities in house and in venues, festivals and competitions across Cardiff and the south west.

I am so pleased with the progress that my two children are making with Immanuel at IMS Cardiff.Immanuel’s lessons are... very engaging and fun which encourages my boys to want to practise and constantly improve. They have only been playing piano for a few months and they are already performing pieces and scales with both hands. Their musical theory knowledge is also developing well.After each lesson, notes are emailed to help us parents support and understand what needs to be practised ready for the next lesson.I am looking to forward to watching my boys perform in their first concert with IMS Cardiff, together with the other students.IMS Cardiff is located in Cardiff City centre which is really easy to access and has free parking.Thank you to Immanuel, Daphne and the team at IMS Cardiff.read more

I would recommend IMS to your children because we have been to various music teachers within the city, and eventually ,... fortunately ended up with this team of music teachers. They are very friendly with the children, and encourage and enthuse them to take interest in their music, and are very appreciative of the children's progress. I would highly recommend IMS. We were paying for my son to have paired piano lessons in primary school and he made... hardly any progress. After 2 terms learning with Immanuel at IMS his piano playing has come on exponentially. He is confident and enjoys the piano lessons and practice and pleasure he gives by entertaining others.
